Apira Science, Inc., maker of the iGrow in-home hair growth device cleared by the FDA, launched an Indiegogo campaign to crowdfund its iDerma Facial Beautification System. The campaign, announced today at the International Consumer Electronics Show in Las Vegas, is designed to collect feedback on the prototype’s design to improve the user experience and ensure best-in-class results when iDerma reaches the broader market.

The campaign—which has a $60,000 goal—will continue until Feb. 9, 2015, according to Apira, which is currently showcasing the iDerma at the big event in Las Vegas. (Be on the lookout for a report on other CES beauty and grooming news at happi.com early next week.)

The iDerma, according to Apira, achieves all of the benefits of a high-priced photofacial at home for a fraction of the cost of clinic-based therapy systems. It uses red and infrared LED light therapy.

“What we were able to do for hair loss with the iGrow,  we’re now doing for the skin with iDerma,” said Jeff Braile, president of the medical products division at Apira Science. “Indiegogo offers us a platform to speak directly to consumers about their experience using iDerma, providing us invaluable insights that can help refine the system and improve results. Through this campaign, we’ll be able to ensure iDerma is a more convenient, cost-effective solution for achieving younger and healthier skin.”
