The Society of Cosmetic Chemists is accepting applications for its fifth annual Madam CJ Walker Scholarship for 2025.
The application period is open now through May 30, 2025.
Two $5,000 scholarships, sponsored by Mary Kay, Inc., will be awarded to under-represented individuals pursuing an undergraduate, graduate or post-graduate degree in STEM disciplines relative to the cosmetics and personal care industry.
“Today, Madam CJ Walker continues to inspire others through her business, philanthropic and barrier-breaking legacy,” said Erica O’Grady, CAE, Chief Executive Officer of the Society. “SCC is proud to recognize that legacy by supporting future cosmetic chemists through the generous sponsorship of Mary Kay, Inc.”
Awardees will be notified by the Scholarship Selection Committee by August 1, 2025. In addition to a $5,000 scholarship, each awardee will receive a travel voucher, hotel accommodation, a student poster and full access registration to attend the SCC 79th Annual Scientific Meeting & Showcase, Dec. 15-17, 2025, in New York City.
