Balbier To Oversee Artistry Brands at Lauder

Jennifer Balbier has been named senior vice president, global product Development, Artistry Brands, The Estée Lauder Companies, overseeing all product development for M•A•C Cosmetics, Bobbi Brown and Smashbox brands.Ms. Balbier will continue to report to John Demsey, Group President, The Estée Lauder Companies and Harvey Gedeon, Executive Vice President Global R&D and Product Innovation, The Estée Lauder Companies. She will begin her new assignment immediately.

“Jennifer Balbier has more product hits on her resumé than we have room to list,” said John Demsey. “Her highly developed expertise, passion and true mastery in cosmetics product development, coupled with her innate commercial sensitivity and creativity will help us to achieve the next level of growth for our Artistry Brands of M•A•C, Bobbi Brown and Smashbox.”

Ms. Balbier’s current position is Senior Vice President Global Product Development, M•A•C Cosmetics and she has been instrumental in growing the M•A•C brand into the number one makeup artist brand in the world. At M•A•C she developed many successful product collections including Barbie, Hello Kitty, all Viva Glam products and the Mineralize and Lipglass franchises. Before joining M•A•C Cosmetics in 1998, Ms. Balbier had established her own consulting firm, Pink Jungle, specializing in conceptual marketing and product development, where she was responsible for all original products for Bath & Body Works and Victoria’s Secret. Other clients included Frederic Fekkai, La Prairie and Tova, one of the first beauty brands to sell on QVC.
