Baobab Derivative Halts Photo Aging

Ingredient from TRI-K now ideal for skin care.

TRI-K Industries, Inc. has developed a unique, multi-functional bioactive protein that defends skin from photo aging. Introducing Baobab Tein NPNF, an exotic ingredient derived from baobab that helps defend, restore and maintain the skin, according to the company.

Baobab is an iconic tree in Africa called the “tree of life” that often lives more than 2,000 years; this tree withstands harsh climates and is known for affording protection and water.  Through a sustainable environmental program, women of Africa have been trained how to nurture young baobab trees until it comes time to collect the fruit and sell to market.  The baobab has become an important source of income for many rural families in Africa.

Through in vivo and in vitro tests, Baobab Tein NPNF defended skin from UV stress by limiting cellular photo aging in a cell senescence study and significantly increased barrier function to protect and lock-in moisture.  DNA health was significantly restored following UV exposure by limiting Double Strand Breaks (DSBs) and lesion formation that accelerates aging.  Additionally, nourishing amino acids helped support overall skin health to maintain soft and supple skin, said TRI-K.
