Involves specialty high-performance solvents

BASF signed an exclusive agreement with Nexeo Solutions, for the distribution of certain specialty high-performance solvents in the US and Canada. Through this exclusive relationship, Nexeo gains access to a BASF product offering that is well aligned with their focused markets. BASF is a leading domestic producer of specialty high-performance solvent chemistries including: • Glycol diethers (or glymes): a polar, non-protic solvent used in inks, specialty coatings, adhesives and cleaning compound. • 1,3-dioxolane: a solvent or reagent used to dissolve polar polymers such as polyesters, epoxies and urethane. • 1,4-dioxane: a process solvent mainly used in the manufacture of active pharmaceutical ingredients (APIs) and fine chemicals. “Nexeo’s market knowledge and technical expertise make them the right distributor for BASF of these products,” said Eduardo Padilla, director of corporate distribution, BASF. “Customers in the U.S. and Canada will benefit from their excellent service and capabilities.”
