Innovative polymer for shampoos and hair care products

BASF Corp. has introduced Luviquat Sensation, which it calls an innovative polymer for shampoos and hair care products with excellent conditioning properties. According to the company, Hair care products should should make just-washed hair easy to comb, yet still have plenty of volume and a soft, natural feel after drying. But in order to achieve those effects, formulators were forced to use combinations of various polymers and silicones to achieve these effects, according to BASF executives. But the Luviquat Sensation polymer meets all of these requirements in a single ingredient. Furthermore, the water-based material can be mixed directly into the shampoo formulation to save time and money.
