Bath & Body Works Eliminates Retail President Role

Julie Rosen, president, retail, at Bath & Body Works, has stepped down from her role and the company has eliminated the position. The change is effective immediately.

Bath & Body Works, Inc. said all functions that previously reported to Rosen will now report to Gina Boswell, CEO.

Bath & Body Works has 1,870 company-operated locations in the US and Canada and more than 490 international franchised locations.

“On behalf of the Board and management team, I would like to thank Julie for her valuable contributions since she joined Bath & Body Works in 2020,” said Boswell in a statement. “Having made significant progress in fortifying our operating foundation and building our platform for long-term, sustainable growth, we believe that now is the right time for this change and that we will benefit from accelerated decision-making as a flatter organization.”

The move comes just weeks before the start of the all-important holiday shopping season.

“We are well-positioned heading into the holiday season and we remain relentlessly focused on growth and committed to bringing customers the compelling product, unique merchandising and brand storytelling for which Bath & Body Works is known,” noted Boswell in her statement.

Rosen will be available in an advisory capacity to ensure a smooth transition, according to the company.

Bath & Body Works’ second quarter sales fell 2.1% to $1.5 billion. For fiscal 2024, BBW expects net sales to decline 2-4% relative to the $7.4 billion net sales in fiscal 2023, the company announced in August.
