Beauty & Wellness Industry Remembers Celebrity Icon Suzanne Somers

Author and entrepreneur passed away at age 76 after a battle with cancer.

Celebrity icon Suzanne Somers passed away on Oct. 15 at age 76 after a long battle with cancer. Besides starring in the hit sitcom “Three’s Company,” she also made her mark on the beauty world with her Suzanne Selects monthly subscription box of organic products.

Additionally, she has published 27 best-selling books. Her most recent launch was “A New Way to Age”.

Somers was a special guest on the Happi podcast to talk about what’s new in beauty supplements on 2020. Take a listen here.

One of America’s most popular and beloved personalities, Somers achieved success as a health care advocate, speaker, entrepreneur, actress, singer and comedienne. She had 14 New York Times bestsellers. There are currently more than 25 million copies of her books in print.

A savvy businesswoman, Somers was one of the very first celebrity entrepreneurs to understand and apply the power of infomercials and shopping on televisions. She introduced her Somersize food, beauty items, apparel, jewelry and personal fitness products to consumers on Home Shopping Network in 1992, quickly becoming one of HSN’s biggest success stories.

After 17 years at HSN, Somers moved to Evine Live (formerly ShopNBC) and Canada’s The Shopping Channel, where she expanded her highly successful product offerings into several different categories, including vitamins and supplements. Her Suzanne Organics line includes everything from non-toxic cleaning products to facial creams. She is survived by her husband, Alan Hamel, children and grandchildren.
