Bissell to Buy Woolite from Playtex Products

Bissell Homecare, Inc., Grand Rapids, MI, has entered into an agreement to purchase the WooliteRug and Upholstery business from Playtex Products, Inc., pending the satisfaction of regulatoryconditions. The deal is expected to close in the fourth quarter of 2004.

“This strategic acquisition strengthens our leadership position in the carpet and upholstery cleaningcategory and proves once again ‘we mean clean,'” said Jim Krzeminski, senior vice president of productdevelopment, sales and marketing for Bissell. “Adding the Woolite brand to our strong product portfoliowill help broaden consumer perceptions of what Bissell stands for in the marketplace.”

Paris Hilton Fragrance Launch Expands to Cover DemandParlux Fragrances, Inc., Fort Lauderdale, FL, announced that the launch of the new Paris Hiltonfragrance, originally scheduled for limited distribution during the holidays, has been expanded toaccommodate retailer demand.

“The response to our recent presentations of the Paris Hilton fragrance to the U.S. departmentstore market has been better than expected,” said David Schwanz, vice president of domestic salesfor Parlux. “A soft launch, originally scheduled for this November in 250-500 doors, is now scheduledfor over 1000 doors and increasing with each presentation.”
