Bug Off! New Repellant Data

Mosquitoes, ticks and other insects are not only a nuisance, they can spread dangerous diseases like the Zika virus and Lyme disease. In recent data, the US Centers for Disease Control (CDC) counted more than 22,000 cases of reported Lyme disease, and according to the CDC, Lyme disease is the most commonly reported vector-borne illness in the US.

The Zika virus remains a threat as well.  According to the CDC, as of early May, there have been 5,274 reported cases of Zika virus disease (Zika) infection in the US since January 2015.
 
The CDC says the best way to prevent Zika is to protect against mosquito bites and recommends using an EPA-registered insect repellent to do so.  Saltidin (Picaridin/Icaridin) produced by Lanxess is one of the CDC recommended EPA-registered insect repellent active ingredients.
