Carrefour Taps Lumson for Packaging

• With a May rollout in France and plans to expand to the rest of Europe by 2013, Les Cosmétiques Design Paris is being sold exclusively in Carrefour stores. The new brand offers more than 600 products presented through five product lines answering every woman’s needs, according to the company. When it came to creating its “Age Science” collection, Carrefour called on Lumson.

All the packs commissioned were developed from the “Slim Collection” of standard packaging.

Renovator 30+, Intensive Restore and Lisse Supreme, Carrefour chose the circular 50ml glass jar with its specific cover in the shiny silver metalized version. All the jars have been lacquered with a metallic effect in colors such as orange, pink and purple.

As far as the serums are concerned, just like the Intensive Restore and the Serum Flash, Carrefour opted for the 30ml glass bottles with AA302 pumps metalized in shiny silver and completed with a clear overcap.

Lindal Powers Body Spray Collection

• When the Lindal Group’s advanced aerosol dispensing technology was selected by The Birkholz Group for its line of women’s body sprays, it underscored the appeal of high quality, innovative premium packaging—as well as the remarkable potential of the personal care product market in the Middle East, according to Lindal.

The company’s operating unit, BB by Berlin GmbH, sells its products in the Middle East, especially Iraq. The four-SKU line of perfumed women’s body sprays utilizes Lindal Group’s Carla actuator, which is said to be ideal for this type of formulation.

According to Philip Brand, global marketing director for Lindal Group, today’s Middle Eastern personal care product market has changed, and is poised for enormous growth, as consumer spending patterns evolve and retail distribution channels expand.

• Qosmedix has expanded its packaging line to include a collection of hinged jars that come in black, white and natural. All three colors are available in four different sizes: 1 gram, 3 gram, 5 gram and 10 gram.

According to the company, these convenient polypropylene pods are perfect for giving customers trial samples of creams, lotions, serums or powder-based formulas. The hinged containers easily snap shut to secure the contents inside, helping to prevent product from spilling out during travel. The jars can also be customized to any color or size, and can be personalized with a company logo to further promote your individual brand.

Mega Airless Makes a ‘Whish’
• The decision by Whish Body Products, the maker of skin and facial care products, to select Mega Airless dispensers for its new Prelude Pre-Wax & Shave serum underscores the potential for an all-new generation of prestige shave products in airless packs, according to the company. The Scottsdale-based brand’s latest launch is a thick, rich gel, with a formula designed to cleanse, tone, numb and reduce skin inflammation with a natural combination of clove leaf oil, menthol, witch hazel and organics. According to company executives, it is the very type of formula that only new-generation airless lotion pumps can handle.

“Mega Airless not only makes a quality product, but also gives us the ability to customize, for each item we produce,” said Jesse Werner, founder, Whish Body Products. “Their high standards, on-time delivery and flexibility to produce a unique product are what I look for in a supplier.”

Mega Airless’ neutral dispenser design, Werner added, is quick to prime Whish’s shaving gel. The product uses the Micro round 30ml lotion pump, with black actuator and cap, in a translucent container. The Micro family—along with the entire Mega Airless lineup—permits complete 360-degree application, exact dosing, highly efficient evacuation and formula stability over the life of the product, without drying, discoloration, drips, clumping or clogging.

“Our work for Whish Products demonstrates the appeal of our dispensing technology in a variety of personal care product categories,” according to Harry Blacklock, national sales and marketing director, Mega Airless. “Multinationals, as well as entrepreneurial brand owners, are developing innovative, complex formulations that require complete neutrality and the utmost in airless formula protection.”
