CE.R.I.E.S. Develops Skin Age Score

Sixteen visual and tactile characteristics of the face can be measured to determine a person’s actual skin age, according to a study published in the Archives of Dermatology by Chanel’s Epidermal and Sensory Research and Investigation Center (CE.R.I.E.S.). The study surveyed 363 French Caucasian women with healthy skin, ages 18-80, using a skin age score. Skin attributes such as crow’s feet and upper lip wrinkles were measured, as well as intrinsic and extrinsic factors such as genetics and lifestyle, respectively.
