Change Brings Opportunity to Maesa

Personnel announcements for Fall 2010.

As Maesa Group continues to grow and expand, some key additions were recently made to support the business and better service its client base, according to the company.

Jeff Klein joins Maesa Group as chief financial officer, U.S. He comes to Maesa from the banking industry with experience at Lazard Frères and Lehman Brothers. Klein is a CPA and received his MBA from New York University. He will lead the financial group in the U.S., working closely with the U.S. and Paris finance teams to formulate Maesa¹s growth strategy.

Jennifer Gateley is now controller, Maesa NY. She is a CPA and comes to Maesa with an extensive auditing background. In her newly created position, she will work with the U.S. finance team to oversee the day-to-day accounting operation.

Terrence Foster is the new accounts payable manager in the New York Office, reporting to Klein. He previously worked at Landor Associates as a project accountant.

Maria Anderson is now logistics manager. She comes to Maesa from Ceva Logistics where she managed all aspects of shipping and importing. Anderson is a graduate of Penn State and was an exchange student in Italy where she learned to speak Italian.

Jennifer Gonzales joins Maesa Packaging as a project manager. She comes to Maesa from Alcan Packaging where she worked with clients such as L¹Oreal, Coty, Victoria’s Secret, Bath and Body Works and Belcorp. She is currently pursuing her second bachelor¹s degree at FIT in International Trade and Marketing.

Miki Iba joined Maesa Beauty in 2008 in Turnkey Development. She has recently been promoted to director of product development, where she is a brand manager in charge of marketing, product development and managing the brands.

Jill Carlucci also joined Maesa Group in 2008, as executive assistant to the former CEO. She has recently been promoted to manager of corporate affairs.

Laure Pellarin recently received a promotion to vice president of purchasing. She now manages and supervises purchasing managers in the Turnkey China division and is responsible for margin, quality and lead-time for all turnkey products coming out of China.

In other news, hip-hop/soul legend Mary J. Blige tapped Maesa to co-create the packaging for her fragrance with Carol’s Daughter, “My Life.” The collection launched exclusively on HSN on July 31 to record-breaking sales: over 60,000 units in six hours, retailing between $25 and $55. Blige returns to HSN in December with new ancillaries, also designed by Maesa.
