Charles River Provides COVID-19 Update

Remains operational across all sites and adapting to developments.

In an update regarding operations during the coronavirus pandemic, Charles River EVP and Chief Commercial Officer William D. Barbo noted that the company remains operational across all sites, adapting to developments as they occur. The company is still monitoring the outbreak with internal and external experts and assessing the impact on employee safety and business operations.

“While governments at various levels begin implementing a 'return to business,' the risk of infection remains present,” he noted. “To help prevent the spread of the virus while maintaining continued operations during this period, we are upholding our travel restrictions, strict visitor policies, and flexible work schedules with shift-work where appropriate. Employees who are able to work from home will continue to do so and, as always, everyone is being reminded of the importance of good hygiene practices.”

Barbo said global and site business continuity plans are active, up to date, and helping site-based operations, as well as associated logistics and support, to continue to meet clients’ needs for planned and new projects, including work supporting COVID-19 research efforts.

“None of this would be possible without the work of our frontline employees—the very definition of essential. Without their commitment to Charles River’s mission, there is no way we would be able to partner with you so effectively in the search for healthier lives,” concluded Barbo.
