Chemist Lauded for Skin Care Patent

Harichian honored tonight by NJ Inventors Hall of Fame.

Dr. Bijan Harichian is being honored by the New Jersey Inventors Hall of Fame as an “inventor of the year” for his patent, “Personal Care Compositions with Glycerin and Hydroxypropyl Quartenary Ammonium Salts” (U.S. Patent No. 7,282,471).

Harichian, who works for Unilever, and other winners will be celebrated tonight at the W Hotel in Hoboken, NJ.

The New Jersey Inventors Hall of Fame (NJIHoF) honors inventors, organizations, and others who have contributed to innovation. NJIHoF promotes the role of invention in the state’s development and the role of inventors in improving society and changing our lives.To be honored as an “inventor of the year,” the individual must be living and have an unexpired USPTO patent for an invention that has been successfully commercialized and/or licensed. A full copy of the patent undergoes screening during the award selection process.

As of January 2008, 276 men and women have been honored by theNJIHoF for their inventive achievements which have had a significant positive impact on society.
