In an effort to further strengthen its global position with color and adhesive concentrates for plastic products, Clariant will acquire Ciba Specialty Chemicals’ Masterbatches business. The transaction is subject to approval and is expected to close at the end of the year. The Ciba Specialty Chemicals masterbatches business generates annual sales of approximately $65 million. The acquisition will help Clariant optimize service capabilities in Europe, the Middle East and Asia Pacific markets.
