Clean Drinking Water Project Big at P&G

Global initiative celebrates 10 years with partners.

The Procter & Gamble Company honored the critical role P&G’s partners have played in the Company’s efforts to provide safe drinking water and help save lives around the world. The P&G Children’s Safe Drinking Water Program (CSDW), which is celebrating its 10th anniversary in 2014, and the Pampers UNICEF campaign to eliminate maternal and newborn tetanus were the two programs highlighted with specific focus on the roles of CSDW partners AmeriCares and ChildFund and Pampers UNICEF partner Tesco, for their contributions to saving thousands of lives.

“Our company and our brands are committed to these programs and their focus on improving lives around the world,” said Martin Riant, P&G executive sponsor, global sustainability and group president – baby, feminine and family care. “But we never could have expanded these programs over the past decade to their current level of impact and reach without our tremendous partners.”

CSDW, which began in 2004, works with more than 140 partners around the globe to raise awareness of the clean drinking water crisis and has provided 7.5 billion liters of clean water using P&G Purifier of Water packets to children and families in need.
