Coast Southwest Establishes East Coast Presence, Hires General Manager

Coast Southwest, Inc., an ICIS Top 100 Chemical Distributor, has named Tom P. Scaria as general manager of the company.

Scaria is a seasoned industry executive with 15 years of experience developing and implementing client strategies. Before his decade in sales, he was in product management and has worked with chemists and design experts to create new products and features based on customer needs. Scaria is responsible for the growth and strategy of Coast Southwest’s east coast distribution.

 

“Establishing national reach is the cornerstone of Coast Southwest’s growth strategy,” said Joseph C. Cimo, president. “The walls are up on our new 105,000 square-foot headquarters building in Irving, TX. We made key hires in Florida and the midwest. Plans are underway to break ground on our Midwest distribution center and academic research facility in South Bend, IN. With Tom joining us as general manager in the northeast, Coast Southwest completes the map. We can now serve customers with our extensive array of personal care ingredients and exemplary service in every major market in the United States, from coast to coast.”

 

In addition to corporate functions, the Irving location will be the new home of Coast Southwest’s applications laboratory, currently located in Arlington, TX. From this technology hub, the company’s team of research and application chemists work directly with customers to develop formulas with innovative personal care ingredients. Its solutions feature nature-based alternatives that are better for products and the environment.
