Colomer for Sale

CVC puts company on the block.

CVC Capital Partners has hired French boutique advisory firm Michel Dyens & Co. to begin marketing Colomer, tthe Spain-based salon products company which does a brisk business in nail care. CVC bought the company in 2000 from Revlon for $315 million. Colomer has sales around $500 million, says a person familiar with the matter, with just over a third of revenues based on U.S. sales, according to an article in The Wall Street Journal.
 

Suitors are most interested in the company’s CND nail Shellac product line and American Crew, the men’s hair and personal product line. The CND Shellac unit’s global sales are around $70 million, according to sources.
