David Anderson, chairman of Colonial Chemical Middle East Arabia, announces the appointment of Dr. Peter Chetcuti as president of Colonial Chemical Middle East Arabia (CCME).

Dr. Chetcuti will report to the board directly and be responsible for all operations, manufacturing, commercial revenue and P&L for CCME.

“The appointment of Dr. Chetcuti to this role is a significant element in Colonial’s plans for the successful start of operations of CCME, and driving forward a range of additional steps as we strengthen our position in this region of the world,” said Anderson. “In Peter, we’ve got a chief executive who cares passionately about this industry, our clients, and our team. He has demonstrated significant success for over thirty years and has an in-depth understanding and knowledge of all sides of the business. He is the right person to lead CCME to the next stage of our evolution as a preeminent global specialty chemical manufacturer.”

Dr. Chetcuti has more than 34 years of experience in the field of specialty chemicals. Prior to joining CCME, Dr. Chetcuti served for 13 years as president of StarChem LLC, a specialty chemical manufacturer for the Textile, Oil and Gas, HI&I and personal care and chemical intermediates markets.

From 22 years prior to that, he held leadership roles at Huntsman, a global chemical company, including positions as regional director of Huntsman Advanced Materials, marketing manager, and business unit manager at Performance Polymer Division in North America. He received a BS in chemistry from University of Bristol, England, and PhD in chemistry from University of California, Los Angeles.
