The Society of Cosmetic Chemists’ NextGen Advisory Committee is beginning a new mentorship program for active members of the Society.

Joining the Society of Cosmetic Chemists (SCC) Mentorship Program enables mentors to spread their knowledge of cosmetics and personal care to more generations.

Designed to nurture growth, this program provides participants with the chance to expand their network, acquire new knowledge and insights and develop essential skills, said SCC.

The national program offers a unique opportunity to engage in one-on-one mentoring relationships with most esteemed cosmetic chemists in the industry and expert leaders in the field.

Expectations

Mentors are expected to provide their mentee with about one hour of support and interaction per month. Most of this interaction will take place via email and other web-related tools, or face-to-face as appropriate. Mentors will then work with their mentee to determine what kind of support is most useful – specific feedback related to finding jobs, general career advice, information on higher studies, technical information, personal encouragement, and so on.

Application

Applications can be accessed now. Once an application has been accepted, participants will be notified to begin the matching process.
