Cosmetic Ingredients Market Growing 4.5%

Skin care, surfactants dominate the category

The global cosmetics ingredients market will grow 4.5% a year through 2025, according to an new study by “>Persistence Market Research. The global cosmetics ingredients market was worth more than  $14.1 billion in 2014, and is projected to reach $22.7 billion by 2025.

The study segments the market into several ingredient groups including surfactant, emollient, polymer, oleochemical, botanical extract, rheology modifier, preservatives, emulsifier and stabilizer, and others (vitamin and minerals). The surfactant segment is expected to account for 27.6% share of the global cosmetics ingredients market by 2015 end, and register a CAGR of 3.4% in terms of value over the forecast period, according to PMR.

On the basis of application, the cosmetics ingredients market is segmented into skin care, hair care, make up, fragrance, oral care and others including shaving and toiletries. The skin care segment is expected to account for 31.2% share of the global cosmetics ingredients market by 2015 end, and is expected to register highest CAGR of 5.0% in terms of value over the forecast period.
