A blend with natural caprylyl glycol.

Cosphatec GmbH, an expert in natural preservatives for the cosmetics industry, has unveiled Cosphaderm, Dicapo natural, an innovative blend consisting of natural caprylyl glycol. A milestone in the field of natural cosmetics has now been reached, since it has become possible to produce caprylyl glycol from completely plant-based raw materials for the first time. The new COSMOS-approved Cosphaderm Dicapo natural is therefore opening up new possibilities for manufacturers of certified natural cosmetics. Caprylyl glycol is a well-known and frequently used raw material for the preservation of cosmetic products. It is most popular in creams and gels, but can also be used in many other products. Cosphatec is now one of the first companies to offer this ingredient with a COSMOS certification and when caprylyl glycol is combined with natural glyceryl caprylate and natural propanediol, a truly unique blend is created. As a result, the company is able to enhance the positive properties of each raw material and overcome their previous weaknesses. The new blend remains effective across a broad pH spectrum (3.5 – 7.0), making it ideal as an alternative preservative to complement organic acids, for example, with a better price/performance ratio. This also makes it interesting for manufacturers who continue to rely on synthetic preservatives and have been reluctant to switch to natural alternatives for cost reasons. Cosphaderm Dicapo natural is especially convenient and efficient during processing. The new blend is a liquid at room temperature. As a result, it is very easy to dose and process. Cosphaderm Dicapo natural is therefore an all-rounder and an all-in-one solution for many cosmetic formulations. The company made Happi headlines earlier in the season, as reported here.
