US Patent No. 11,628,135 B2 (Tamara L. Burgess, Yelena Loginova, Beate Boutwell); Coty Inc. has patented a water-based nail treatment composition that is comprised of a water solvent; a coalescing agent comprising a glycerol ether, a glycerol ether ester, an ester alcohol, a branched or linear (C1-C6)alkyl acetate, or a mixture thereof; a first film-forming copolymer that is a copolymer of a (C1-C5)alkyl ester of methacrylic acid, of a (C1-C5)alkyl ester of acrylic acid, or a combination thereof, and of methacrylic acid; a second film-forming copolymer that is a copolymer of isophorone diisocyanate, a poly((C2-C3)alkylene oxide), and 2,2-bis(methylol)propionic acid; and a biomimetic composition comprised of an oil-based portion comprising two or more of green coffee oil, coconut oil, and Abyssinian oil, and a water-based portion comprising garlic extract, horsetail extract, or a combination thereof.
