Follain has been acquired by Credo.  This is Credo's first acquisition.

A blog from Follain Founder and CEO Tara Foley said: “This is a proud moment in the history of Follain – and an important moment in the evolution of the clean beauty industry.  Follain’s mission has always been to connect people with products that are effective, luxurious, and the absolute safest for both people and planet.  We have been a leading activist voice defining ‘clean beauty’ along with others – like Credo – who have helped create this important movement.”

Foley founded Follain in 2013. The company sold clean beauty products in a Boston storefront as well as its own line of skincare products that were available in other retailers.

Follain-branded skincare line will become part of Credo's owned brand portfolio, which includes Exa and mineral sunscreen collection EleVen by Venus Williams.

“This community—and everything we’ve accomplished and shared together over the years—is so important to me,” said Foley. “Thank you from the bottom of my heart for being part of it, and looking forward to seeing you at Credo going forward!”

Credo was founded in 2015 in San Francisco.

“The acquisition of Follain, a like-minded company with a shared mission, is an important step forward for Credo and the clean category,” said Credo CEO, Stuart Millar, who was named CEO in February. “Solidifying Credo's clean beauty leadership position allows us to scale our impact in a meaningful way, and we are excited to continue to advocate for change in a highly under-regulated industry.”

Foley will support Credo as an advisor over the coming months.
