CSPA Elects Board of Directors

Annual meeting names new officers and focuses on achievements.

The Consumer Specialty Products Association (CSPA) elected officers and directors for 2012 at its annual meeting in Ft. Lauderdale, FL in early December, concluding a successful year representing the interests of the household and institutional products industry.

“CSPA attracts some of the most talented industry leaders to its board, whose leadership throughout the years has helped keep the Association on a positive path forward,” said CSPA president and CEO Chris Cathcart. “We expect under our new leadership that CSPA will enter the New Year with the strong momentum we have built to help shape the future of our industry.”

“Our reputation as a progressive and innovative Association that achieves results has helped attract 18 new member companies to the Association in 2011 and 4 companies have already signed up to join in 2012,” Cathcart said. “We expect to see more members join in the New Year.”

“CSPA membership is a vital part of our business plan, as it helps protect our bottom line,” said Frank Judge, vice president, general counsel & secretary, Armored AutoGroup Inc., a company that joined CSPA this year. “The Association’s legislative, regulatory and technical expertise is top notch and helps unify the industry and strengthen our voice.CSPA builds bridges with all stakeholders on issues that are critical to my company and that promote sound public policy. ”

Providing leadership on priority issues in 2012 includes the following Board of Directors officers: Chairman of the Board—Lisa Alexander, Firmenich Incorporated; First Vice Chair, Bob Scharf, Sergeant’s Pet Care Products, Inc.; Second Vice Chair, Paul Siracusa, Ph.D., Church & Dwight Co., Inc.; Treasurer, Adam Selisker, CRC Industries, Inc., Immediate Past Chair, John Abplanalp, Precision; and CSPA President and CEO, Christopher Cathcart.
Directors with terms expiring 2012 include: Michael W. Feldser, Ball Corporation; Frank Jusich, Central Life Sciences; Frank Pacholec, Ph.D., Stepan Company; Scott Prud’homme, Prestige Brands; Reza Rahaman, Ph.D., The Clorox Company; Kelly M. Semrau, S.C. Johnson & Son Inc.; James A. Westerhaus, Ecolab Inc.; and Bill Wood, Faultless Starch/Bon Ami Company.

Directors with terms expiring 2013 include: Daniel M. Bagley, Ph.D., DABT, Colgate-Palmolive Co.; Joseph Franckowiak, Berry Plastics Corporation; Frank Judge, Amored AutoGroup, Inc.; Tom Mazurek, Beauty Avenues; Jeff Pinkham, Ph.D., The Scotts Company; Ron E. Shuck, The Sherwin-Williams Company; William (Bill) Smith, KIK Custom Products; Stanley R. Weller, Ph.D., ZEP, Inc.

The seven division chairs include: Bill Frauenheim, Diversified CPC International for Aerosol Products; Greg Adamson, Givaudan for Air Care Products:Joe Robinson, Lonza, Inc. for Antimicrobial Products; Ken Roach, Diversey for Cleaning Products; Ed Piszynski, Chicago Aerosol for Industrial/Automotive; Bill Metzger, United Industries for Pest Management Products; and Ted Tysak, Dow Chemical Co for Polishes and Floor Maintenance Products.
