The Consumer Specialty Products Association (CSPA) seeks comments on its updated cleaning product test methods and guidelines in an effort to update its Cleaning Products Compendium, which is used by those engaged in the formulation, manufacture or marketing of cleaning products.

The updated test methods and guidelines are available for public review and can be obtained by contacting Tim Brown at [email protected]. The upcoming Compendium, to be published in electronic form on a compact disc in 2012, will be the latest update to the 4th edition published in 2006.

Inclusion of test methods and guidelines is a consensus process among CSPA member companies and the public.

The test methods and guidelines have been developed over many years of efforts by the Scientific Affairs Committee within CSPA’s Cleaning Products Division. The public review process will conclude 30 days from now.

Any CSPA member can participate in the Scientific Affairs Committee that develops the Compendium. Additionally, any member can request to review specific documents proposed for inclusion; substantive concerns expressed by any CSPA or industry member will result in the document being brought back to committee for those concerns to be addressed.

Any questions or comments on the test methods or guidelines should be directed to Tim Brown at [email protected].
