An overview of Frank R. Lautenberg Chemical Safety for the 21st Century Act (H.R. 2576) will be offered in a webinar by the Consumer Specialty Products Association (CSPA) on June 20, 2016 from 1-2pm EST with the alternative of in-person attendance for those in Washington, D.C.

On June 7, 2016, the U.S. Senate approved the Frank R. Lautenberg Chemical Safety for the 21st Century Act (H.R. 2576) by voice vote, following the U.S. House of Representatives' prior approval of the bill on May 24, 2016. The bill has gone to the president, who has ten days (excluding Sundays) to sign it, and he is expected to do so.

Join Dentons US LLP, co-sponsored by CSPA, by webinar or in person for an overview of the bill's changes to the current Toxic Substances Control Act (TSCA), with a focus on issues of importance to processors of chemical substances and mixtures. The webinar will focus on how the new law will impact processors of consumer specialty products and their suppliers and will include the following:

  • New testing authority

  • New prioritization, risk evaluation, and regulation of existing substances
  • New reporting of substances “active” in U.S. commerce
  • New requirements for confidential business information claims
