HBA Health & Beauty America has added three special sessions to its comprehensive educational program. On Wednesday, Oct. 1, CTFA will present a session on “State, federal and international regulatory issues affecting cosmetic and OTC drugs.” The 11th Annual HBA takes place Sept. 30-Oct. 2, 2003, at the Jacob K. Javits Convention Center in New York.Two cutting-edge sessions on “New developments in natural ingredients and products” will also be offered during the event. Organizer CMP Princeton said these three sessions complement the marketing, product development, packaging and display sessions that are being presented over the three-day exposition and educational conference.HBA has also expanded its Master Class program with more in-depth instruction on topics such as perfumery, American spa products, delivery systems, contract manufacturers and natural emulsifiers.The Cosmetic, Toiletry and Fragrance Association’s (CTFA) senior staff will present the “Regulatory Issues,” panel on Wednesday, October 1 from 9:00 a.m. to noon. Moderated by E. Edward Kavanaugh, president of CTFA, this session will discuss the domestic and international issues affecting the development and marketing of cosmetic products in the U.S. and worldwide markets, as well as an analysis of FDA regulatory issues affecting cosmetics and OTC drugs, ingredient safety issues, international regulations. Also featured is an update on organic claims, California Proposition 65 and the status of the California VOC tax.The “New developments in natural ingredients and products,” sessions will also take place on Wednesday, Oct. 1. Michel M.
