David Beaham, president of Faultless Starch/Bon Ami Co. of Kansas City, has died at age 47. Beaham suffered a heart attack Friday on a weekend trip to a lodge in the Brainerd, MN, area.
He was a fifth-generation member of the family that founded the company, which makes and markets laundry and household cleaning products, candles and air fresheners, and lawn and garden products.
His father, Gordon T. Beaham III, is company chairman, and his brother, Robert B. Beaham, is vice chairman.
David Beaham was a 1987 graduate of the University of Kansas.

“Our thoughts and prayers are with the family and friends of David Beaham and with the employees of Faultless Starch/Bon Ami,” said Ernie Rosenberg president and CEO of the American Cleaning Institute.“David left a legacy of leadership within the cleaning products industry and of many contributions to the greater Kansas City community. His friends at ACI will miss him.”

The family business dates to 1887, when Thomas G. Beaham arrived in Kansas City. He bought into a coffee, tea and spice company that became Beaham & Moffit and then Faultless Starch.
Faultless bought Bon Ami and changed its name in 1974 to Faultless Starch/Bon Ami.
