At the NYSCC Suppliers’ Day event in Edison, NJ, Dow Reichhold Specialty Latex will launch PolySāf 5600 polymer, a new ingredient for use in personal care products, including body washes, shampoos and deodorants. Utilizing unique cationic emulsion chemistry, this new polymer will help formulators develop extremely mild and gentle personal care products with improved deodorancy and a clean afterfeel. The company will showcase PolySāf 5600 polymer at Booth 207.

“We are delighted by the positive response from several pre-launch partners regarding the benefits of PolySāf 5600. There has been a great deal of interest in evaluating this material,” Doug Johnson, global marketing manager for the Personal Care Group at Dow Reichhold, said. “We look forward to introducing PolySāf 5600 to more formulators during NYSCC Suppliers’ Day.”

PolySāf 5600 polymer is a multifunctional water-based polymer that imparts many benefits, including: deodorancy, clean afterfeel, antistatic properties, film-forming ability; non-irritating and good foaming. It is also compatible with a wide range of other ingredients, enabling future new product development efforts.

“The unique patents-pending cationic emulsion technology behind PolySāf 5600 polymer gives formulators a new level of R&D flexibility,” explained Venkataram Krishnan, new business technology leader at Dow Reichhold. “In addition to the many functional benefits of the polymer itself, its compatibility and benign nature allow for a wide range of possible solutions. We’re excited to see what formulators will do with this new design and development freedom.”
