In May, DS Containers opened a new plant in Batavia, IL. The 236,000 square-foot facility was built by DSC’s Japanese affiliate, Daiwa Can Company, to produce two-piece aerosol cans for the personal care, insecticide,
automotive, paint, food and household products markets. The polymer-coated steel cans are made using proprietary technology and, according to the company, are a first in the U.S. Congressman J. Dennis Hastert, above, Speaker of the U.S. House of Representatives, addressed 150 packaging executives and suppliers at the formal opening.
