Tilamar line debuts at Stand No. F16.

DSM has been a major force in the skin care industry for decades, now the company is putting the same focus on the hair care segment with the introduction of Tilamar products for hair styling, conditioning and shine. DSM launched the line at In-Cosmetics (Stand No. F16). “We are using the DSM knowledge base and putting it into hair care,” explained Ilona Haajier, senior vice president, DSM Nutritional Products. “Now, with a strong presence in hair care, as well as skin care and sun care, we can offer our customers complete personal care solutions.” The Tilamar line includes Tilamar Quat 640, which is billed as an extra caring and moisturizing ingredient for shampoos, conditioners, treatments and colorants. Recommended for chemically-treated and fine hair, it improves combing and washing, and the feel of wet and dry hair without buildup. Other conditioning polymers in the line include Tilamar Quat 2240, Tilamar Quat 740 and Tilamar OP 40. Another new active, Argan Oil, is a shine enhancer that can repair dry and brittle hair without weighing it down. At the same time, DSM is putting a new emphasis on the growing men’s care market by offering personal care companies a range of ingredients to solve a host of problems including sebum and wrinkle reducing agents, sunless tanners and soothing aftershave. For example, Iricalmin supports the restoration of the lipid barrier and soothes men’s skin. Alpaflor Imperatoria AO an Allantoin have wound-healing properties. To reduce sebum, DSM offers Regu-Seb, which is said to regulate sebum production especially in the T-zone. Meanwhile, Alpaflor Hyssopus AO has antibacterial and antiseptic properties. To reduce wrinkles, DSM recommends Pepha-Tight which immediately tightens skin and Syn-Ake, which reduces wrinkles by inhibiting muscle contractions. Radiance CR, an active complex combining Stay-C 50 and biotin, helps smooth wrinkles. “Consumer today, really want their skin care products to work as promised,” explained Kathy Maurer, senior marketing manager, DSM Nutritional Products. “We have the data to support the claims we make.” Finally, for UV protection, Parsol UV filters protect the skin from photoaging and pigmentation, while Erythrulose gives skin a natural and uniform tan. But even as DSM launches these new products, three new polymers are slated for introduction in December. More info: DSM Nutritional Products, www.dsmnutritionalproducts.com
