DuPont Expands Glycolic Acid Production

DuPont Chemical Solutions Enterprise has announced an $18 million capacity expansion to increase production of glycolic acid 45% at its manufacturing facility in Belle, WV. Glycolic acid occurs naturally as a trace component in sugarcane, beets, grapes, and other fruits. DuPont, which produces a synthetic product having the same structure as the naturally occurring form, offers Glypure, highly purified products widely used in cosmetics and personal care.
