Effective Plant-based Ingredients from Indena

Indena (stand no. K200 – Hall 2) has been working with plants for more than 85 years, often starting from the study of traditional usages of medicinal plants (ethnobotany) for the discovery of new and effective ingredients.

Ximilene, a cosmetic ingredient active on micro-circulation used to shape African traditional masks, and Zanthalene, premium ingredient for sensitive skins coming from Chinese plant used as a treatment for gastrointestinal pain and as a spice, are two successful stories of ethnobotany having an impact on general well being, which is the modern aspiration of all of us.

Indena is presenting the latest results obtained on Zanthalene, a CO2 extract obtained from the Chinese plant Zanthoxylum Bungeanum.
Suitable for sensitive and irritated skin, Zanthalene also revealed interesting proprieties with an unusual mechanism of action. The anti-itching properties have been clinically tested in different trials which proved Zanthalene can reduce itching and skin discomfort in sensitive skin.

Zanthalene has also obtained the Ecocert validation, and is suitable for the formulation of dermocosmetics and skin care products of natural origin.
