US Patent No. 10,363,205 B2 (Wilson A. Lee); ELC Management LLC, Melville, NY, has patented a delayed release delivery system that is comprised of at least one treated particle that is comprised of a hydrophilic core particle having surface pores and a liquid contained therein, the hydrophilic core particle being further encapsulated by a polymer having a hydrophobic backbone and a plurality of hydrophilic pendant groups. Some of the surface pores adjacent the hydrophilic pendant groups are blocked in the presence of water and unblocked in the absence of water, and the polymer is modified with polyglycerol pendant groups.
