Aesthetics play a major role in a cosmetic’s success. If it doesn’t feel good to a consumer as she applies it or as she goes about her day, that product will find its way to the bottom of the makeup bag—and the chance of repeat purchase goes out the window.

To formulate products with great feel, EMD has improved upon its established RonaFlair M-Sphere with new RonaFlair Soft Sphere, which is based on synthetic mica platelets with submicron-sized, monodispersed silica spheres. This new offering provides finished formulations with positive properties such as homogeneity and smoothness in applications and good skin adhesion, according to EMD.

The synthetic substrate gives RonaFlair Soft Sphere a pure white masstone color, and due to its high transparency, it can be universally applied to all cosmetic formulations—from white lotions and creams to powders and sticks, all without changing the color of the finished product, the company said.

In addition, RonaFlair Soft Sphere offers outstanding light stability even in transparent packaging and low heavy metal content, according to EMD.
