In honor of World Environment Day, Beiersdorf announced new sustainable products in its Nivea and Eucerin brands.

According to Beiersdorf, Nivea Sun products have been optimized with a new octinoxate and oxybenzone UV filter formula. The products packaging has been refined to contain 50% recycled material in each bottle in the Sun Protect & Moisture line.

Nivea Lip Care packaging has been updated. The brand has replaced exterior plastic packaging with cardboard. Products are no longer packed in a plastic blister and will be available in a plastic-free folding box, which is made from recycled and FSC paper. Energy production has also been reduced within its production process and there’s now lower CO2 emissions in transport, according to Beiersdorf.

Beiersdorf’s Eucerin brand has released a refillable jar for its Hydrogen Filler Day and Night Cream. It saves 90% of plastic when compared to previous packaging, according to the brand.
