The newest color collection from Essie is all about “cocktail bling,” according to the company. After all, every Essie girl likes to dress up during the holidays.

The nail polish collection, out now in stores, is inspired by the precious stones and metals seen at holiday cocktail parties – think rubies, sapphires and emeralds.

“Like any great accessory, jewelry makes a statement. So I say, the bigger the better! Whether you wear rings, bangles, pendants or brooches – size matters!” said Essie Weingarten, founder of Essie Cosmetics. “The same is true with color for Winter 2011 – the bolder the better.”

The winter 2011 collection consists of six festive, luminous shades: Cocktail Bling, a precious pale gray; Bobbing For Baubles, a dark sapphire; Size Matters, a ruby red; Brooch The Subject, a creamy cashmere; School Of Hard Rocks, a midnight malachite and Bangle Jangle, a lavender amethyst.

And, for holiday 2011, Essie is rolling out Luxeffects, a new collection of multi-dimensional top coats. According to the company, the genius of Luxeffects—out in December—is that it lays evenly over nail color and features four to five different sized flakes or pearl shapes.
