Farfetch May Exit Beauty Category

The retail website only entered the category a year ago.

Farfetch, the UK-based, D2C fashion and beauty retailer, may exist the beauty business. The idea itself seems a bit, well, far-fetched, as the company only entered the beauty space in April 2022. Still the beauty business is notoriously competitive. Farfetch's concept, offering new products and fan favorites that are hand-picked by beauty experts, isn't for everyone. 

The company got its start in January 2022 when it acquired Violet Grey. Three months later, Farfetch debuted with a product lineup that included over 100 prestige brands. At the time, Farfetch said it would rewrite the retail landscape by offering gender-neutral formulas in a format it described as “Beauty Beyond Boundaries.”
