According to the Washington Post, Scott Gottlieb, head of the US Food & Drug Administration (FDA), is resigning from his post.

Gottlieb was sworn in as the 23rd commissioner of the agency in May 2017.

Under his leadership, the agency had started a high-profile crack down on e-cigarettes. Last month, FDA  issued a proposed rule that would update regulatory requirements for most sunscreen products in the United States.
