He previously served as senior director of state government relations & public policy for the Western region.
June 1, 2026
By: Melissa Meisel
The Household & Commercial Products Association (HCPA) promoted Christopher Finarelli from senior director of state government relations & public policy for the West region to vice president.
In this new role, Finarelli will continue leading HCPA’s advocacy efforts across the Western Region, with a particular focus on California, where he has become a trusted voice on the industry’s most complex and high-profile issues, according to the association.
Among his many accomplishments at HCPA, Finarelli played an important role in advancing efforts to secure more predictable and efficient timelines for pesticide registrations in California.
Since joining HCPA in January 2021, Finarelli has played an instrumental role in advancing the Association’s state advocacy priorities and building stronger relationships with lawmakers, regulators, coalition partners and member companies.
HCPA recently announced that president and CEO Steve Caldeira is stepping down from his role in July, concluding nearly a decade of “exceptional leadership and service to the organization and the household and commercial products industry.”
Caldeira informed the HCPA board of directors about his decision to resign and complete a transition through July 2026. Read more here about these changes.
