US Patent No. 10,758,463 B2 (Susan Halpern Chirch, Chunhua Li, Anne-Laure Suzanne Bernard, Nicholas David Stebbins); L’Oréal, Paris, patented a heat-protective emulsion composition that contains laponite; one or more nonionic emulsifiers selected from the group consisting of a polyol ester, a glycerol ether, an oxyethylenated fatty alcohol ether, an oxyethylenated fatty acid ester and a mixture thereof; and water. The composition provides protection from heat when applied to skin and/or hair.
