Henkel Patents Toilet Cleaner Blocks, Laundry Item

US Patent No. 8,987,182 B2; Henkel, Düsseldorf, has been awarded a US patent for a malleable toilet cleaner composition. It is comprised of perfume; at least one nonionic surfactant; at least one alkyl benzene sulfonate; at least one olefin sulfonate; and at least one inorganic alkali metal salt or alkaline earth metal salt. The composition is sufficiently malleable to be shaped at temperatures less than 30°C. into a rotationally symmetrical object using a rolling machine or a press.

Henkel has also received US patent (No. 8,987,185 B2) for laundry article used for both cleaning and conditioning fabrics. It is comprised of a water-insoluble nonwoven substrate with a non-uniform cross section that has a gradient of fiber density; a detergent composition solidified on the substrate in at least one zone; and a fabric conditioning composition comprised of a quaternary ammonium cationic surfactant and an additive mixture of C5-C22 alkyl triglycerides and fatty acids, which is also solidified on the substrate.
