Public policy and government affairs consulting firm HillStaffer has named long-time chemical industry and American Chemical Society veteran Glenn Ruskin to its senior team.

“We are thrilled to have someone with Glenn’s vast advocacy, government relations, and public affairs expertise join the firm,” said HillStaffer president Thomas R. Rosenfield. “Glenn’s leadership and strategic expertise in public policy, corporate/crisis communications, and regulatory and legislative issues within the scientific and chemical sectors adds even more depth and breadth to an already exceptionally deep bench of ESG, chemical, and sustainability experts.”

Prior to HillStaffer Ruskin served as vice president, External Affairs & Communications for the American Chemical Society, the world’s largest scientific society. At ACS Ruskin led a team of over 30 professionals, and was instrumental in advancing legislation and policies critical to the US research & development enterprise and fostering the nation’s global innovation competitiveness.

Ruskin commented, “I am very proud to join the great team of experts at HillStaffer and look forward to being able to provide existing, and future, clients with the benefit of my experience in the chemistry enterprise.”

Prior to ACS Ruskin was the vice president, Public Affairs for Solutia, an international chemical company spun-off from Monsanto. While there, Ruskin led efforts to promote federal building standards, protective residential standards, automotive performance standards, tire tread separation prevention standards, and federal upholstered furniture flammability standards.
