If you can’t beat them. Leave them. Investor Carl Icahn, who only this summer tried to strong-arm Clorox management into selling the company, has reduced his stake in the multinational maker of household and personal products.According to SEC filings, in the third quarter Icahn sold 1.65 million Clorox shares to leave his stake at 6.89%.

Icahn still owns nearly 9.1 million shares of the company, remaining its largest shareholder.
