The goal of the competition is to encourage and develop young creative talent that will build the future of the cosmetics industry. A panel of cosmetic and personal care packaging design experts, including Santo Fareri of SRF Design Ltd., Annette Green, past president of the Fragrance Foundation, Gregg Lukasiewicz of Lukasiewicz Design, Inc., Kenneth Noskin of Ideate and Rick Prater of Rick Prater Design, judged the student competition. Judging criteria for packaging included uniqueness, ability to be reproduced economically and use and storage accessibility. Participating schools included: American Academy of Art, Chicago, IL; Columbus College of Art and Design, Columbus, OH; Fashion Institute of Design & Merchandising (FIDM), Los Angeles, CA; Fashion Institute of Technology (FIT), New York, NY; Miami International University of Art and Design, Miami, FL; Savannah College of Art & Design, Savannah, GA and The School of the Art Institute of Chicago, Chicago, IL.
