The Independent Cosmetic Manufacturers And Distributors Association (ICMAD) will hold its annual Cosmetic Innovators of The Year (CITY) Awards Dinner and Annual Meeting on June 19, 2008 at The Manhattan Penthouse, NYC. The CITY Awards honor product and packaging innovation from independent companies in the cosmetic, toiletry and fragrance markets. The CITY Awards honor the very best of the year’s entrepreneurial innovations. The 2008 presenter is marketing expert Haluk Kulin, a global marketing guru passionate about developing market-changing businesses and applying his knowledge and skills to building start-ups. His talk, entitled “How to Beat the Big Guys: Mixing Old Chemistry with New Marketing” will focus on using disruptive thinking to build valuable marketing properties. Mr. Kulin brings big business expertise to independent companies after working for beauty industry giant Unilever for 10 years, driving the successful marketing and restructuring of multi-billion dollar global brands. A true global citizen, he has lived in 9 countries and has consumer and management experience across most major global markets. To be eligible for a CITY Award, the company must be a member of ICMAD and follow the criteria established for each award category.
