Inter Parfums Inc., New York, NY, which manufactures and distributes Burberry and Christian Lacroix perfumes, said on Wednesday it sees first-quarter earnings beating estimates due to strong orders for the company’s newest products. The company said it expects earnings per share for the quarter ended on March 31 to be 15 cents, compared with 11 cents reported in the year-ago period. The previous forecast for the quarter was 14 cents a share.

Inter Parfums also said it now sees first-quarter revenues of about $30 million, compared with $22.2 million in the same period of 2000. The company raised modestly its full 2001 sales outlook to $115 million from a previous range of $113 million to $114 million.

“In Japan, the launch of Paul Smith fragrances has recently begun, following its hugely successful debut in the U.K, France and the U.S. in the second half of 2000,” said Jean Madar, the company’s chairman and chief executive officer.
