“Introduction to Skin Toxicology” is the first in a new series of 12 webinars that will be taught in 2013 by the Center for Dermal Research. This presentation, which will be held Jan. 31 from 12noon to 1:30 pm and presented by Dr. Nava Dayan, will explain the unique nature of the skin as the largest organ in the body that is exposed to environmental insult and the key aspects that outline toxicological evaluation of exposure when required. It will further delve into the notionsand prerequisites in the industry that are shaping progress in research and validation of alternative methods to assess effects on skin. A section will be devoted to explaining the considerations that differentiate skin toxicology from toxicity to other organs in the body and when systemic toxicity may be a concern.
